Step 1
Consultation & Measurements
At British Custom Tailors, we begin the bespoke process with an in-depth consultation. During this stage, we get to know you, your style preferences, and the specific occasion for which the garment is being made. Every piece of bespoke apparel begins with a complete set of measurements to understand the nuances of your body shape. This session sets the foundation for a garment that is not only perfectly fitted but unique to you. Our bespoke process can take 4-5 weeks on average.
Step 2
Fabric Selection
Fabric selection is where your vision starts to take form. We offer an extensive range of high-quality fabrics sourced exclusively from Italy and London. We will guide you through the best fabrics for your vision, including luxurious wools, exquisite silks, and crisp linens. The choice of fabric influences not just the look but the overall feel and drape of the final garment.
Step 3
Design Details
With measurements and fabric chosen, the next step is to determine the design details. This includes decisions on lapel styles, pocket shapes, buttons, linings, and other personalized touches. We will offer insights into current trends and timeless styles, ensuring your garment is both contemporary and classic. If needed, sketches or inspiration boards may be used to help visualize the final design.
Step 4
Adjustments
Once your bespoke piece is crafted, you’ll be invited back for the fitting process. During this step, we identify and correct any necessary refinements and adjustments. This stage may involve multiple fittings, each one an opportunity to refine and perfect. Our goal is to ensure the garment contours to you perfectly while allowing for comfort and natural movement.
Step 5
The Final Fitting
During the final fitting, you get to see your vision fully take shape. Now that your bespoke piece is fully constructed, we go over every detail to ensure it aligns with your expectations. We will also provide guidance on proper care to ensure longevity.
